The Football Association have confirmed that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been fined £8,000 for comments made about referee Lee Mason.
The English governing body announced yesterday that the Northern Irishman had accepted a charge of misconduct following his comments on Boxing Day after his side lost 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Rodgers questioned whether Mason should have been allowed to take charge of the Premier League game because he is from Greater Manchester.
The FA announced via their official website that following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, a financial penalty has been issued along with a warning to Rodgers about his behaviour.
Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League table after 20 games.
