Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers won't give up on winning Premier League title

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that the team are not giving up on being crowned Premier League champions, despite the race being out of their hands.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he and his team have not given up hope of clinching the Premier League title with one game left to play.

The Merseyside outfit have a one-point lead at the top of the table, but Manchester City need just four points from their last two games to take the crown.

Rodgers conceded the title to City after the Reds' 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night, but the Northern Irishman has now claimed that anything can happen ahead of Sunday's match against Newcastle United.

"This season the players have allowed the supporters to dream and for a club of this size and magnitude, to be a point ahead at the top of the table with a week to go, you never know what can happen - it has been magnificent," The Express quotes Rodgers as saying.

"I promise for the time I am here we will fight for our lives and we won't finish until Newcastle."

Reports have emerged claiming that Rodgers has agreed a four-year contract extension.
