Brendan Rodgers has praised Reading's Alex McCarthy for his performance in goal for the Premier League's bottom side this afternoon.
The 23-year-old had to make a series of saves during the 0-0 draw with Liverpool, which saw the visitors have 26 shots, including 15 on target.
The club's Twitter account quotes the manager as saying: "The game will be summed up by the great goalkeeping performance of young Alex McCarthy.
"When the keeper has a day like that, sometimes there's not a great deal you can do.
"I've got no complaints about my team. We created enough clear opportunities but just couldn't find a way past the young man."
Reading remain bottom of the Premier League table, while Liverpool sit seventh.
