Brendan Rodgers hails "exceptional" Liverpool strikeforce

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers hails his "exceptional" strikeforce of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge following his side's 3-1 victory at home to Crystal Palace.

Brendan Rodgers has described the Liverpool strike duo of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge as "exceptional" following his side's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Suarez gave the home side a 14th-minute lead, before Sturridge doubled the home side's advantage. Steven Gerrard made it 3-0 before half time and although Dwight Gayle pulled a goal back in the second half, Liverpool held on for a comfortable victory.

"They were exceptional today," Rodgers told Sky Sports News. "Their combination play was outstanding and they are right up there with the best in this league.

"He (Suarez) always gives 100%. He tripped over in the box and got back up to score.

"You can see the link-up play between the two of them. It was telepathic at times.
Those two are on the same wavelength."

The result lifts Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table.
