Barcelona interested in Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum?

Georginio Wijnaldum emerges as a rumoured transfer target for Barcelona as he enters the final 12 months of his Liverpool contract.

Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old has spent the past four seasons at Anfield, making 177 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

Wijnaldum has started 28 of Liverpool's 29 Premier League matches this term, but Goal claims that Liverpool may have a battle on their hands keeping hold of the Dutchman.

Barcelona are said to be admirers of the former Newcastle United man, while Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been tipped to pounce next year should he fail to sign a new deal, or indeed join Barca.

Netherlands international Wijnaldum is into the final 12 months of his Liverpool contract, meaning that he is able to speak to foreign clubs from the start of 2021.

The Reds return to league action on June 21 with a Merseyside derby clash against Everton.
