John Barnes: 'If Luis Suarez is unhappy, he should leave Liverpool'

John Barnes believes that Luis Suarez should leave Liverpool if he is unhappy at the club.

Liverpool legend John Barnes believes that the club should not try to keep hold of Luis Suarez if he is unhappy.

The Uruguayan international striker has admitted that he is open to leaving Anfield this summer, with reports claiming that his desire to play Champions League football is behind the move.

"As far as Suarez is concerned, if he's not going to be happy, then he has to go," Barnes told talkSPORT.

"We can all say, 'yes, we think Suarez is going to be a player like Carlos Tevez, who gives 100% no matter what' but we don't know what his mental state is going to be if he doesn't get his wish [to leave]."

Arsenal and Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with moves for the controversial forward.
