The England Under-21 international featured frequently for the Reds last season, filling in at right-back and centre-back when needed.

Cottagers boss Martin Jol was impressed with the 20-year-old's performances and wants to secure his services to bolster his defensive options ahead of the new season, reports The Mirror.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers would be willing to allow Wisdom to leave the club for a year to gain more experience, but a permanent move would not be possible as the Reds boss feels that the defender is crucial to his long-term plans.

Wisdom made 19 appearances for the Merseysiders in all competitions last season.
