Juventus confirm approach for Emre Can

General director Giuseppe Marotta says that Juventus will 'try all they can to get Emre Can', with the Liverpool midfielder now into the final six months of his contract.

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that the Italian champions are interested in signing free agent Emre Can from Liverpool at the end of the campaign.

The 24-year-old has recently attempted to play down speculation of an Anfield exit and even hinted that he may be tempted to sign a new contract.

Juventus will try to persuade Can to make the move to Turin, though, as they are now officially able to make contact with the Germany international regarding a pre-contract agreement ahead of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Moratta said: "Emre Can is a player whose contract is running down, so it allows us to approach him for negotiations and that is the course we have taken.

"I can't say if he could sign a new contract with Liverpool, but I can say we will try all we can to get the player. Obviously, we have to respect what the player wants."

Can, also previously linked with former club Bayern Munich, has two goals and three assists in 25 appearances for Liverpool overall this term.
