Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: 'Nobody is thinking about Philippe Coutinho future'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists that Philippe Coutinho's future is not a talking point at this stage of the season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has played down suggestions that Philippe Coutinho has already agreed with the club to leave at the end of the season.

The Brazilian was coveted by Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer, but a move was never granted, despite the player submitting a transfer request.

Reports claimed during the window that the Reds rejected three bids, one of which was thought to be in the region of £114m.

Even though Coutinho stayed put, rumours are rife that Barcelona will revive their pursuit at the end of the season, leading to suggestions that Liverpool have made an informal agreement to allow the 25-year-old to go.

According to The Telegraph, when asked if an arrangement was in place, Klopp said: "I've no clue. We will see. We don't talk about things like this. Can you imagine what it would be like if I said 'yes we have an agreement'?

"In this moment, the 100% truth is that nobody thinks about this. We don't talk about it, why should we? In both cases it would not make sense - no, there is no agreement, yes, there is an agreement. It is not important in the moment. We have other moments when we have to talk about these things but not in October.

"In general, as a club, we have to still create a situation where players want to be part of it with all they have. In this moment, we have this. Nobody thinks about January, nobody thinks of June or July. Everyone wants to be part of this but there will come transfer windows and we will see what happens."

Liverpool will go head to head with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley this weekend, searching for their fourth league win of the season.
