Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal for Bayern Munich forward Mario Gotze, which could cost the club as little as £15m.
The former Borussia Dortmund star, who netted the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final, is thought to be unhappy with life at the Allianz Arena and has regularly been linked with a move to Anfield since Jurgen Klopp became manager.
However, The Express claims that Gotze has already indicated that he is keen to work with Klopp again for a fee of around £15m-£20m, with the 24-year-old's contract at Bayern due to expire next summer.
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Piotr Zielinski, but Christian Benteke is expected to leave the Reds after only a year, with West Ham United reportedly in pole position for the Belgian's services.
Zielinski, who is on loan at Empoli from Udinese, has been quoted as saying that he is working hard so that he "may have a chance for such a big transfer" at the end of the season.
