Report: Liverpool plotting £7m Kostas Mitroglou bid

Reports suggest that Liverpool will launch a £7m bid for Olympiacos striker Kostas Mitroglou.

Liverpool have reportedly prepared a £7m bid for Olympiacos striker Kostas Mitroglou.

The 25-year-old Greek has been in fine form this season, notching 14 goals in 10 games for club and six in seven for his country - including one in Tuesday's World Cup playoff with Romania.

According to The Mirror, the Merseyside club have embarked on a thorough scouting campaign, which has included watching him over his last six matches.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is thought to be tempted by the relatively low price tag, with reports suggesting that Mitroglou first caught his attention while playing in the Under-19 European Championship in 2007.

Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested.
