Report: Liverpool to hijack Tottenham Hotspur's Saido Berahino move

Liverpool prepare to hijack Spurs' £20m move for West Brom starlet Saido Berahino in January, according to reports.

Liverpool are reportedly plotting to hijack Tottenham Hotspur's proposed move for West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino in January.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen on the 21-year-old and has identified him as the man to solve their misfiring forward line.

Spurs are thought to be favourites to land the Albion starlet but, according to The Mirror, Tottenham will have to stave off intense interest from Liverpool in order to secure him.

The Baggies are believed to have slapped a £20m price tag on Berahino, whose contract expires in 2017.

Despite scoring eight times in his first 10 Premier League games this season, the youngster has now gone over two months without finding the net.
