Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara insists that he is focused on achieving success with the Reds amid links with a return to Barcelona.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has rubbished reports linking him with a return to Barcelona.

Thiago graduated from Barca's La Masia academy and totalled 100 appearances for the first team before leaving for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2013.

The Spain international has struggled to make his mark at Anfield due to injuries since moving to Liverpool, and Barca manager Xavi is supposedly keen to reunite with Thiago at Camp Nou.

Thiago shot down those links in a recent press conference, though, telling reporters: "I am focused on the duty I have for my team and for the years I have with my team - the new adventure I have here in the Premier League trying to win all the trophies I can."

The 30-year-old boasts one goal and one assist from 38 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool and has started just three Premier League games for Jurgen Klopp's side this term.

Thiago's involvement in Tuesday's pre-game press conference suggests that he will be in the starting lineup for the visit of Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday.
