Vincent Kompany sidelined for Manchester City

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany misses Wednesday's trip to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League with a thigh injury.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out of Wednesday's trip to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League through injury.

The Belgian international missed the club's Premier League win over West Ham United at the weekend with a thigh strain.

Kompany, 27, will now sit out the match against CSKA after not travelling with the City squad to Russia.

Meanwhile, Jack Rodwell also misses out as he continues to recover from a persistent hamstring problem.

The Blues are currently in second place in Group D following one win and one defeat from their opening two fixtures.
