Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that Borussia Dortmund can win the Champions League this season.

The German champions defeated City 1-0 at home in their final Group D game to progress to the last 16 as group winners with 14 points from six matches.

"The Champions League can be strange," said Mancini. "Dortmund last year went out in the group stages and like us were in fourth place.

"This year I think they can win the Champions League."

Dortmund won the Champions League back in the 1996-97 season.
