Saturday's FA Cup predictions including Man City vs. Plymouth Argyle

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's FA Cup fixtures, including Manchester City vs. Plymouth Argyle.

Preston vs. Burnley (Saturday, 12.15pm)

A Lancashire derby takes centre stage at Deepdale on Saturday lunchtime as Preston North End lock horns with Burnley in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

This contest will represent the 144th meeting between these two clubs, who first faced each other on the first ever day of the Football League back in September 1888 (Preston winning 5-2), but this will be the first time they meet in the FA Cup.

We say: Preston North End 0-1 Burnley

Considering the last two meetings between these sides ended goalless, another tight affair could be in store on Saturday. Burnley have made themselves incredibly difficult to break down this term and although Preston have scored in nine of their last 11 home matches, we are backing the Clarets to come out on top and keep yet another clean sheet.

Crystal Palace vs. Millwall (Saturday, 12.15pm)

Locking horns for the 100th time across all competitions, South London derby rivals Crystal Palace and Millwall clash at Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime with a spot in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on the line.

The Eagles ran out 2-0 winners at Doncaster Rovers to make it this far, while their second-tier visitors also emerged as victors by the same scoreline away to Championship rivals Leeds United.

We say: Crystal Palace 2-0 Millwall

Millwall have caught Palace at arguably the worst time, as Glasner's men have developed a taste for victories in 2025 and are on cloud nine after ripping Aston Villa to shreds.

Glasner's men have not been so merciless in the FA Cup so far, but we still cannot envisage any outcome other than a spot in the quarter-final draw for the Premier League side.

Bournemouth vs. Wolves (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Reuniting just one week on from their close Premier League contest, Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers butt heads for a place in the quarter-finals at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Both sides strode to 2-0 victories in their fourth-round encounters, as the Cherries got the better of Everton, while Vitor Pereira's side ended Blackburn Rovers' journey in the competition.

We say: Bournemouth 2-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers (a.e.t, Bournemouth to win on penalties)

Assuming Bournemouth do not go down to 10 early doors as was the case last weekend, we ought to be in for a much different game on Saturday, one in which Wolves should feel that a diminished Cherries defence is there for the taking.

However, Iraola's men can bite back just as hard in the final third, and it could very well take the lottery of penalties to settle this scrap; the hosts have our vote to make home advantage count in that scenario to progress to the last eight.

Man City vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 5.45pm)

Vying for a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals, Manchester City welcome Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle to the Etihad Stadium for a fifth-round tie on Saturday evening.

The two teams meet for the first time in any competition since February 1989 when the Citizens claimed a 2-0 victory in the old Division Two at Maine Road.

We say: Manchester City 4-0 Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth could become the first team from outside the top flight to eliminate Premier League opposition in three consecutive rounds of the FA Cup since Wigan Athletic in 2017-18, but their next opponents Man City have won their last 18 FA Cup tie against teams from lower divisions by an aggregate score of 69-9, since losing 1-0 at Wigan in the 2017-18 fifth round.

Muslic will hope that his Pilgrims players can deliver another spirited performance, but it is difficult to envisage the visitors pulling off another cup shock this weekend, as Man City should be too strong for them at the Etihad, even if Guardiola opts to make multiple changes.
