Roberto Mancini says that he could still be sacked by Manchester City even if he wins the FA Cup.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that winning the FA Cup may not be enough to save his job at the Etihad Stadium.

Growing uncertainty has surrounded the Italian's future in Manchester after Manuel Pellegrini's agent was recently spotted having lunch with City director of football Txiki Begiristain, with a deal reportedly in place between the two clubs.

While he remains keen to beat Wigan Athletic at Wembley for City's only piece of silverware this year, Mancini concedes that one trophy may not be enough to improve his job security.

"I won seven trophies at Inter in four years and they sacked me after four years," Mancini said. "This is football. I know football enough to understand this situation.

"I want to do only my job well, if it is possible, and continue to win every year. This is my target.

"I don't have other situations where I want to improve. I think it is important for every club to have a manager who can take a lot of decisions about the team, but now it is important we win this trophy."

City face Wigan at Wembley in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
