Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero's record vs. Everton

Ahead of Manchester City's Premier League meeting with Everton on Wednesday, Sports Mole looks at Sergio Aguero's goalscoring record in this fixture.

Manchester City can pile further pressure on Liverpool when they take on Everton at Goodison Park in a rearranged fixture on Wednesday night.

The Citizens moved to within two points of the Reds with Sunday's 3-1 victory against Arsenal, coming on the back of a shock loss at the hands of Newcastle United five days beforehand.

Liverpool are expected to restore their five-point lead on Monday when they travel to West Ham United, though, and City know that they cannot afford another Newcastle-style slip-up over the coming weeks.

City had Sergio Aguero to thank for their weekend victory over Arsenal, with the striker netting all three of his side's goals, but how does he fare against Everton?

Here, Sports Mole looks at the Argentina international's goalscoring record in this fixture.

For a player boasting 157 Premier League goals and now eighth in the all-time scorers list, Aguero's record against Everton can seem a little underwhelming.

The 30-year-old has scored in just two of his 12 Premier League meetings with the Toffees, both coming in the 2013-14 season as City won 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium and 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Since then he has fired blanks in seven successive top-flight encounters, four of which he has started - including the 1-1 home draw last season, his most recent game against the Toffees.

Aguero did score in City's 3-1 win over Everton in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final three seasons ago, however, while also setting up a goal in the first leg.
