Man City's Wilfredo Caballero: 'Let's forget Sergio Aguero tackle and move on'

Manchester City goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero says that the team need to "look forward" and "forget" about Sergio Aguero's four-match ban.

Manchester City goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero has claimed that the team need to "forget" about Sergio Aguero's reckless challenge that landed the striker with a four-game ban.

The North-West outfit will be without their influential forward for Premier League games against Leicester City, Watford, Arsenal and their Boxing Day meeting with Hull City.

Aguero was handed the suspension by the Football Association as punishment for his high tackle on David Luiz during Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Caballero has described the Argentine's absence as a "shame", but insists that team and manager Pep Guardiola need to "look forward".

"I think things happened a lot of time in the Premier League or Champions League in every competition," the goalkeeper said in a press conference. "Now he is sanctioned, it is a shame for us because we are going to lose a great player for a lot of matches.

"The most important thing now for us is to look forward and to play without Kun but it's not time now to talk about Sergio and the tackle. We have to focus on the next game and try to forget about what happened."

Aguero is eligible to play in City's Champions League dead rubber group match against Celtic on home turf on Tuesday night.
