The 30-year-old, who has been plagued with injury throughout his career, picked up a calf injury in training last month.
"He has been training for the last week so he will carry on and use the international break to keep that going," Platt told the Manchester Evening News.
The former Manchester United midfielder scored in his debut for the Blues two months ago.
