Mick McCarthy: 'I'm sick with Manchester City result'

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says that he is "sick" that his side didn't get more out of their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has admitted that he is sick that his side didn't get more out of their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Vincent Kompany's sending off allowed Stephen Hunt to pull a goal back for Wolves from the penalty spot with 25 minutes to play, but Adam Johnson's drive on 90 minutes sealed the win for City.

"I thought we played well in the second half," said McCarthy. "When we got one back I thought it was set up for a rip-roaring finish.

"We've got another striker on the pitch but I thought we let them off the hook, I'm sick we haven't got something."

The defeat means that Wolves are 17th in the Premier League table, while City remain five points clear at the top of the standings.
