Xavi says that his former coach Pep Guardiola is capable of leading Manchester City to the quadruple this season.

Xavi has predicted that former coach Pep Guardiola will be keen to win every competition during his first year at Manchester City.

On Wednesday night, City face Swansea City in the EFL Cup - a competition which usually sees managers take the opportunity to rotate their players - but Xavi has suggested that the former Barcelona chief will select a strong side for the fixture in South Wales.

The 36-year-old told Goal.com: "Pep is a winner. He will want to win it all this season, and with the squad Manchester City have there is no reason he can't achieve that.

"He won the treble with Barcelona and he can win three or four trophies this season. He will want to win it all, of course, the league and Champions League are special - but his ambition will be to win every competition."

City have won each of their eight games under Guardiola, who replaced Manuel Pellegrini during the summer.
