Returning Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has admitted that he came close to leaving the club in the January transfer window.
The Argentine striker has spent the past two months in his native land after a well-publicised falling out with City boss Roberto Mancini, but is now travelling back to England for peace talks.
He was linked strongly with moves to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain during January and has confessed that he nearly got his desired move away from Manchester.
On his departure from Buenos Aires airport, Tevez said: "All the rumours about transfers are true, but they were not achieved and I belong to City. So I have to go back there.
"Now I will face the challenge and for me that is to come back to training and also to see all of my colleagues."
Asked how he thinks fans will welcome him, he said: "We will see."
Tevez yesterday accused Mancini of 'treating him like a dog'.
