Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has suggested that CSKA Moscow made it difficult for his side to score goals in their Champions League clash this evening.
England's all-time record goalscorer netted the match's only goal with a late header, and Rooney believes that the Russian outfit were difficult to break down at Old Trafford.
"Obviously it's difficult when teams come and defend with all their players, it's tough to break them down," Rooney told BT Sport.
"We had to keep grinding at them, keep digging away and thankfully the chance came at the end and we've got the goal so it's a big win for us."
This evening's victory has sent United to the top of Group B with two games remaining.
