Manchester United could be without as many as 10 first-team players for Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round encounter with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Harry Maguire - who scored in last weekend's 2-1 home defeat to Fulham in the Premier League - is ruled out with an unspecified injury, with the defender joining Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw (both muscle), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (unspecified), Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia (both knee), Anthony Martial (groin) and Mason Mount (calf) on the sidelines.
The Dutchman has also revealed that ever-present captain Bruno Fernandes and defender Raphael Varane are both doubtful with unspecified issues, but Casemiro has been passed fit to feature against Forest despite coming off against Fulham with a nasty head injury.
Man United are light in the defensive department as they currently have no first-team left-back available, while Jonny Evans, Willy Kambwala and Victor Lindelof - the latter of whom played at left-back last weekend - could be the only three centre-backs at Ten Hag's disposal.
Should Ten Hag opt against handing Casemiro a start, Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen or Sofyan Amrabat could be recalled to play alongside Kobbie Mainoo in centre-midfield; both McTominay and Eriksen will also be considered to operate in the number 10 role if Fernandes is not deemed fit to feature.
Teenage academy graduate Omari Forson was handed his first senior start for Man United last weekend and he will hope to continue on the right side of attack at the expense of Antony, while Marcus Rashford may keep his place as the central striker as Alejandro Garnacho plays on the left.
Manchester United possible starting lineup: Onana; Dalot, Kambwala, Evans, Lindelof; McTominay, Mainoo; Forson, Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford
