Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United play host to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night looking to end a two-match winless streak in the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has witnessed his side held to draws against Sheffield United and Aston Villa respectively, results which have left United in ninth position in the standings.

However, ahead of welcoming Jose Mourinho's side to Old Trafford, Solskjaer is hopeful that a number of his first-team players are closing in on a return from injury.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the match in the North West.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Bailly remains unavailable for selection as the central defender looks to recover from his knee operation that took place over the summer. The Ivorian is not expected to make his return until the Christmas and New Year period.

Paul Pogba

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: December 4 (vs. Spurs)

Solskjaer has recently revealed that Pogba has made progress in his recovery from an ankle injury. However, despite the Frenchman potentially being in contention in the very near future, this match could come too early for the 26-year-old.

Nemanja Matic

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: December 4 (vs. Spurs)

Having been absent since the middle of October, Matic is closing in on a return to the squad. The Serbia international could possibly earn a place on the substitutes' bench for this game.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Dalot has endured a frustrating season with injuries, making just three appearances in all competitions. As it stands, it is unclear when the right-back will feature again after a groin problem.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

While Fosu-Mensah has recently stepped up his recovery from a knee injury, it is unclear whether Solskjaer still regards the recent Fulham loanee as part of his first-team squad.

Scott McTominay

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: December 4 (vs. Spurs)

Before the match with Villa, Solskjaer suggested that McTominay was in contention for a return to the squad after an ankle injury. Despite having missed that contest, the Scotland international is in line to feature against Spurs.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 7 (vs. Manchester City)

Rojo has been absent from the last two squads due to a muscle problem. While the Argentina international is progressing well in his recovery, he may not be risked ahead of the Manchester derby.

United have no players who are suspended for this fixture.
