Bruno Fernandes admits he regrets goading Pep Guardiola

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes admits that he regrets goading Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola during March's derby clash between the two sides.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has admitted that he regrets goading Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola during last month's derby between the two sides.

The pair were involved in a touchline altercation during United's 2-0 win at Old Trafford, with Fernandes raising his finger to his lips to tell Guardiola to 'shush'.

After the match the Portuguese playmaker claimed that Guardiola did not deserve his respect, but now he admits that he should have ignored the incident and not reacted to the City boss.

"As everything in life, nothing is defined by what a person has or had and won," Fernandes is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"I condemn myself because the best response would have been to remain silent and he would have been left to speak alone."

Fernandes is yet to end up on the losing side in a United shirt, scoring three goals and registering four assists in his nine games for the club.
