Michael Carrick backs Radamel Falcao to hit goal streak

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick backs forward Radamel Falcao to go on 'a bit of a goal streak' following the Colombian's strike against Aston Villa.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has backed on-loan striker Radamel Falcao to fire in the goals and spearhead the Red Devils' title charge.

Louis van Gaal's side were held to a 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa on Saturday as the Colombian forward scored his second United goal to cancel out Christian Benteke's opener.

Carrick told reporters after the game: "[Falcao] has scored so many goals over the years and you feel when he gets the chance he'll score.

"It was a terrific header, so I'm pleased for him. After being out for a bit that's him back and hopefully he can go on a bit of a streak now."

United currently sit third in the Premier League table, seven points behind Manchester City and leaders Chelsea.
