De Bruyne: 'Man City fine without Sanchez'

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is confident that his side can continue fighting for four trophies this season, despite seeing Alexis Sanchez join Man United.

Kevin De Bruyne has insisted "it does not matter" that Manchester City missed out on the chance to sign Alexis Sanchez, as they are capable of winning trophies without him.

The Chilean forward, who saw a summer move to the Etihad Stadium collapse on deadline day last summer, officially joined Manchester United from Arsenal earlier this week.

De Bruyne is confident that City's quadruple-chasing squad will cope just fine without any additional attackers this month, however, having lost just one domestic game all season to date.

"If it doesn't go, it doesn't matter, we will still do what we need to do, with or without him," he told reporters. "And he chose United. There are a lot of good players. If they want to come, they want to come, and otherwise we will do it with our team."

Sanchez penned a four-and-a-half-year deal at Old Trafford rumoured to be worth in excess of £500,000 a week.
