Patrice Evra has praised Manchester United teammate Danny Welbeck following the striker's two goals in Saturday's Premier League win at Swansea City.

The England international netted twice for the defending champions in their 4-1 victory at the Liberty Stadium, doubling his tally from the last campaign.

"I am glad for Danny," Evra told the club's official website. "He is a striker and he deserved his goals. The second was a great finish. Overall, it was a great start."

United continue the defence of their title a week on Monday when they welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.
