Rio Ferdinand rubbishes talk of complacency prior to United's Champions League exit.

Rio Ferdinand has dismissed suggestions of complacency prior to Manchester United's Champions League defeat in Basel.

The Old Trafford outfit, who needed a point to progress from Group C, fell behind to goals from Marco Strellar and Alexander Frei en route to a 2-1 defeat at St Jakob-Park in Basel. However, the United defender insists that the team were focused.

"There was no complacency," he said. "That is way off the mark. The manager wouldn't stand for complacency at this club.

"But it is embarrassing to go out at this stage and any player with pride in his performance and in his job doesn't want to feel that.

"We don't like this. We will try and rectify it. I have no worries or qualms about this weekend coming. We will be up for it."

Sir Alex Ferguson's side will look to bounce back when Wolves travel to Old Trafford this weekend.
