Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will reportedly not be punished for comments that he made about linesman Darren Cann yesterday.

Sir Alex Ferguson will not be punished for comments that he made about linesman Darren Cann yesterday evening, according to Press Association Sport.

The Manchester United boss was angry at Cann's failure to spot a foul by Chelsea defender Gary Cahill on United striker Danny Welbeck.

Ferguson felt that Cahill should have been sent off for the challenge as he was the last man.

"They should've had a man sent off [but there was] nothing, no decision," Ferguson told reporters after his side's 3-3 draw.

"[Cann], [has] given a penalty kick against us from 40 yards away last year against Liverpool, this year against Arsenal - and he can't see that?

"He is all too happy to flag at Old Trafford for penalty kicks."

Despite the public criticism, the FA are not prepared to intervene because Ferguson did not question the assistant referee's integrity with his words.
