Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Javier Hernandez is fit to play against Stoke City this weekend despite limping off the field against Chelsea.
The Mexico international was forced to leave the pitch during the Red Devils’ 3-1 win over Chelsea after Ashley Cole committed a lunging tackle on the striker.
Despite fears that the 23-year-old could be sidelined for a number of weeks, Ferguson has said that he is fit to play.
"Hernandez is very lucky," said Ferguson. "At the time he had no feeling in the leg. There was numbness and we thought there might have been some nerve damage.
"But he trained very well on Thursday and is available for Saturday."
Meanwhile, defender Nemanja Vidic remains out of contention while recovering from a calf problem.
