Javier Hernandez could miss "a couple of weeks" action following Ashley Cole's challenge at Old Trafford yesterday, according to manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Javier Hernandez could be out of action for "a couple of weeks".

The Mexican striker suffered a leg injury after being brought down by Ashley Cole during United's 3-1 victory over Chelsea yesterday, a challenge which Ferguson has branded "shocking".

"We will have to see what the damage is in the morning," Ferguson told Sky Sports News after the match. "His leg is very numb.

"He could be out for a couple of weeks."

The 23-year-old has only just returned to action after sustaining concussion during pre-season.
