The Football Association have confirmed that Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole will not face any further action for his challenge on Javier Hernandez yesterday afternoon.
England defender Cole caught Hernandez on the shin as he tried to prevent the 23-year-old from scoring at Old Trafford.
Cole was subsequently cautioned by referee Phil Dowd, while Hernandez was unable to continue any further and was replaced by Dimitar Berbatov.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was angry with a tackle he described as "shocking" and revealed that he thought Cole should have been red-carded.
Fifa rules currently state that Cole cannot be punished restrospectively because referee Dowd took action at the time for the tackle.
Ferguson also confirmed that the injury could rule Hernandez out of action for two weeks.
