Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that Manchester United are never far from his thoughts.
The Portugal captain moved to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon when he was 18 years old and went on to develop into one of the best footballers on the globe.
He sealed a then-world record £80m transfer to the Bernabeu in 2009, and despite signing a new lucrative contract with the Spanish giants last year, Ronaldo has been constantly linked with a return to Old Trafford.
Last night, the 29-year-old was asked about his former club after picking up his third Ballon d'Or trophy in Switzerland.
"I think about Manchester United," The Mirror quotes Ronaldo as saying. "The beginning of my career was there, that's where I started. I know the fans are there supporting me."
Ronaldo scored 52 goals in 43 games last year.
