Man Utd out to become fourth team to win 10 successive top-flight away games

Manchester United are aiming to become only the fourth team in top-flight history to win 10 away matches in a row when they pay a visit to Sheffield United on Thursday.

Manchester United will be aiming to become only the fourth English team ever to win 10 successive top-flight away matches when they travel to Sheffield United on Thursday evening.

In spite of their troubles at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have become renowned for their away form this term and currently boast a 100% record on the road in the Premier League.

United have strung together a nine-game winning streak in the league on unfamiliar territory, and should they take the spoils at Bramall Lane, they will become the fourth team in English top-flight history to win 10 in a row away from home.

Manchester City were the most recent team to achieve that feat between May and December 2017, while Chelsea amassed a similar winning away run between April and December 2008 after Tottenham Hotspur had done so first between April and October 1960.

Furthermore, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will equal a 60-year-old top-flight goalscoring record if they score at least twice at Bramall Lane, and it has been 48 years since Sheffield United last kept a clean sheet against the Red Devils.

The Red Devils sit four points outside the top four in ninth before their visit to the Premier League's basement side.
