Manchester United reiterate that Mason Greenwood will not train or feature for the club "until further notice".

Manchester United have reiterated that Mason Greenwood will not train or feature for the club "until further notice" despite the forward being released on bail.

The 20-year-old has been suspended by the Red Devils after being arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, threats to kill and assault of his girlfriend.

The club's academy product spent a third night in a cell on Tuesday but was released from custody on Wednesday morning while investigations take place.

Despite the latest developments, Man United have reiterated that the England international will not be involved in training or matches "until further notice".

"Although Mason has been released on bail, that doesn't change the situation with regard to him not training or playing until further notice," said a spokesperson for the club.

Man United are set to return to action against Middlesbrough on Friday evening, welcoming the Championship outfit to Old Trafford in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Greenwood has made 129 appearances for the Red Devils since breaking into the first team, scoring 35 times and contributing 12 assists in the process.
