Diego Maradona thinks that Manchester City's title hopes could be squandered because Roberto Mancini is "too defensive".

Argentina legend Diego Maradona believes that Manchester City will struggle to clinch the Premier League title due to manager Roberto Mancini's defensive style.

The Al Wasl coach, who is the father-in-law of City striker Sergio Aguero, has claimed that Manchester United have the attributes to hold on to their league crown.

"My heart says Manchester City, but I believe Mancini with all the players he's got, is not daring enough," Maradone told Sport360. "He's a bit too defensive. Maybe because he is Italian."

"As an organisation, and with their style of play, I think United are more aggressive. But if I have to support one team, I'll be a fan for my son-in-law."

Mancini's side currently top the league table with two points clear from fierce rivals United.
