Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford urges Mason Greenwood to ignore his critics and continue working hard in order to become a world-class forward.

Marcus Rashford has backed Manchester United teammate Mason Greenwood to become a world-class forward if he continues pushing himself.

Greenwood has notched 12 times in all competitions in his breakthrough campaign at Old Trafford after progressing through the club's famed academy.

The 18-year-old was recently described as "priceless" to United by former player Rio Ferdinand thanks to his ability to score with both feet.

Rashford, another United academy success story, believes the youngster will only get better with time.

"Mason's got everything to be as good as he wants to be," he told Bleacher Report. "All the attributes to be a forward at the top level.

"It's just about him pushing himself - he doesn't need to listen to things on the outside, just keep pushing and improving.

"As a forward there's not much else you can ask for in terms of natural ability. Hopefully he continues to work hard. He's an unbelievable talent."

Speaking last month, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tipped Greenwood to become "a complete number nine".
