Jack Rodwell says that Manchester City are hoping Manchester United "slip up" in the last 11 games of the Premier League season.

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell is keeping his fingers crossed that rivals Manchester United "slip up" in their quest for the Premier League title.

The current English champions were close to falling to a 15-point gap behind the Red Devils in the table until they secured a 2-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

"We hope they slip up," the Daily Mail quotes Rodwell as saying. "All we can do is win our games. If we don't win our games and United don't then we've only got ourselves to blame. We've just got to focus on our side."

United go up against Norwich City tomorrow, while City face Aston Villa on Monday evening.
