Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand tweets "don't believe all u read" following reports that the defender was thinking of creating a breakaway anti-racism group.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has suggested that reports claiming that he is planning to create a breakaway anti-racism group are false.

Reports this morning have claimed that the 33-year-old was considering starting a group called 'The Federation of Black Players' after a number of high-profile players expressed their frustration with anti-racism group Kick It Out.

Ferdinand tweeted: "Don't believe all u read."

The centre-back refused to wear an anti-racism T-shirt ahead of the Red Devils' 4-2 win over Stoke City at the weekend.
