Manchester United attacker Juan Mata emerges as a target for Arsenal, according to a report.

Manchester United attacker Juan Mata has reportedly emerged as a target for Arsenal.

Mata has worked his way back into the United team in recent weeks, but the 30-year-old's contract with the Red Devils will expire at the end of this season, and his future is far from secure.

The Spaniard played under current Arsenal boss Unai Emery at Valencia between 2008 and 2011, and it is understood that the two still have a strong relationship.

According to the Daily Star, Emery is closely monitoring Mata's situation at United, and will move for the Spaniard if it becomes clear that he will be leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer this summer.

Mata has scored 41 times and registered 34 assists in 195 appearances for United since a 2014 move from Chelsea.
