Report: Atletico Madrid to bid £20m for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata

Atletico Madrid are to make a bid of £20m for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata in the near future, according to reports.

La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have expressed an interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, according to reports.

The Spain international joined the Red Devils from Chelsea in January for a then-club record £37.1m, but has seen game time limited under new manager Louis van Gaal.

According to The Express, Mata's reported availability has alerted Atletico manager Diego Simeone, who will push forward with an offer of £20m in the near future.

Mata has played the full 90 minutes in just three matches for United this season.
