Leicester City are reportedly leading the race to sign Monaco defender Fode Ballo-Toure, who has also been linked with Manchester United.

Leicester City have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to win the race for Monaco defender Fode Ballo-Toure.

Having allowed Ben Chilwell to join Chelsea in a deal said to be worth £50m, the Foxes are in the market for a new left-back.

While Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico has been strongly linked with a switch to the King Power Stadium, several alternatives to the Argentina international are under consideration.

Reports in France claim that Brendan Rodgers is interested in securing the signature of Ballo-Toure, who is valued in the region of £18m.

The former France Under-21 international has made a name for himself at Lille and Monaco, making a combined total of 85 appearances in Ligue 1.

Despite the 23-year-old possessing a contract until 2023, Monaco may be open to a sale due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
