Liverpool have a 'place reserved' for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara at Anfield, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly determined to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara to Anfield during this summer's transfer window.

The 29-year-old has again been a key player for his German club this season, making 36 appearances in all competitions, but the Spaniard's current deal at the Allianz Arena is due to expire next June.

A recent report claimed that the Reds were in 'very advanced' negotiations with Bayern over a summer move.

According to Sport, the European champions have a 'place reserved' for the Spain international, who would boost Jurgen Klopp's options in the middle of the park.

Thiago has made 231 appearances for Der FCB since arriving from Camp Nou in 2013, winning seven Bundesliga titles during his time at the club.

Bayern are thought to be looking for a transfer fee in the region of €35m (£31.6m).
