Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw wants a £5m pay-off in order to leave the Old Trafford club in the next transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw reportedly wants a £5m pay-off if he is to depart the club in January.

The 22-year-old defender has found playing time hard to come by under Jose Mourinho, and a number of reports have already claimed that the Old Trafford club are considering letting the England international leave during the next transfer window.

According to The Sun, United are only willing to give Shaw £2m in severance pay should he leave in January, with the same report stating that an Old Trafford source has claimed the full-back will "not make it easy" for United to show him the door.

Newcastle United are thought to be keen on Shaw's services, although it remains to be seen as to whether the Magpies are ready to meet United's £20m valuation of the youngster.

Shaw joined United from Southampton for £30m in 2014.
