Manchester United place Bournemouth's Nathan Ake, Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings and AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli on a three-man centre-back shortlist, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly placed Bournemouth's Nathan Ake, Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings and AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli on a three-man centre-back shortlist.

The Red Devils broke the transfer record for a central defender when they signed Harry Maguire from Leicester City last summer, but Victor Lindelof is yet to fully convince as the England international's main partner.

According to ESPN, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have drawn up a list of three potential targets during this summer's transfer window as they look to boost their squad ahead of next season.

The report claims that Premier League duo Ake and Mings, who are both battling to remain in the top flight with their respective clubs, are being considered by the 20-time English champions.

Meanwhile, Milan's 25-year-old captain Romagnoli is also allegedly on the club's shortlist, with the Italy international enjoying an impressive 2019-20 campaign.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, are said to be weighing up a summer move for Lyon's Moussa Dembele.
