Manchester United have reportedly offered Raphael Varane a five-year deal, as the Red Devils attempt to bring the Real Madrid defender to Old Trafford this summer.
The 28-year-old, who is currently with the France squad preparing for Euro 2012, only has one year left to run on his contract with Los Blancos.
Man United continue to be strongly linked with the World Cup winner, while Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool are all believed to be keeping a close eye on the developments.
According to ABC, the 20-time English champions have offered Varane a lucrative five-year contract, although the club are yet to come to an agreement with Real Madrid over a transfer fee.
The report claims that Carlo Ancelotti's side are open to a sale but are unlikely to sanction his exit for anything under €70m (£60.2m) due to his importance to the team.
Varane recently said that he is fully focused on this summer's European Championships and is not currently prepared to discuss his future at club level.
