Manchester United have reportedly previously 'made a move' for Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.
The Italy international's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus said to be interested in his services ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Italian journalist Enrico Camelio, Man United made a move for the midfielder but were unsuccessful, with Roma looking for €50m (£42m) in order to let him leave.
"Juve asked for information, but did not speak to Roma. A team from Milan also asked for information. If €50m (£42m) arrives, Rome sells him. The only one that has actually moved is Manchester United, the others have only asked for information," Camelio is quoted as saying by JuveLive.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for Roma during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring four times and contributing five assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Zaniolo, meanwhile, has netted 18 times and registered 11 assists in 97 appearances for his Italian club since making the move from Inter Milan in 2018.
